ADAMADÉN « Un ciel pour revenir » CH (VD, VS) / FR

Vincent Zanetti is known for his passion for traditional world music—especially Mandinka music—which he shares on his Espace 2 (RTS) radio show. This project reveals his talents as a composer, multi-instrumentalist, and artistic director. Created in 2022 with the Valais classical ensemble Valéik, Adamadén is first and foremost an initiatory journey, bringing together the spirits of the Valais mountains with those of the bush, cliffs, and rivers of Mali. With Un ciel pour revenir (A sky for my return), a new chapter begins. Freely inspired by Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish’s Eleven Stars, this piece evokes exile, connection to the land, and the vanity of empires. All through music that, while free from any overt folk labels, remains deeply rooted in the West African polyrhythmic traditions so dear to Zanetti.
