Both artists are well-known in the region, with one performing at Cully Jazz almost every year for the past decade and the other teaching songwriting at the Haute École de Musique in Lausanne. After meeting in the early 2000s, their musical friendship has grown through various collaborations, culminating in a duo album titled "Our Calling" (February 2025). Ballaké Sissoko and Piers Faccini create a captivating dialogue, combining the virtuosity of the Malian kora master with the delicate folk of the Italo-British singer-songwriter. This sublime project explores new bridges between traditions, becoming a profound sonic and narrative ode to migration in all its forms.
