Chassol plays Basquiat & more FR

In 2016, French pianist Chassol took the Festival’s audience on a journey through his Martinican roots with a concert blending harmonized film excerpts. Nearly a decade later, he pays tribute to iconic contemporary artist Jean-Michel Basquiat while sharing another chapter of his life. Chassol Plays Basquiat incorporates recordings of his son and nephews reacting to one of Basquiat’s paintings, resulting in a singular, poetic audiovisual piece created using his “ultrascore” production technique. Accompanied by drummer Matthieu Edwards, Chassol will present this unique work alongside key tracks from his previous albums.
